✅ How It Works
Once you’ve added Alternate Part Numbers to a part:
Go to your Parts tab.
Use the Search Bar at the top.
Enter any of the saved part numbers (the main part number, an alternate, or a cross reference).
The part will appear in the search results, no matter which number you used!
💡 Why Use It?
This is especially useful if:
Vendors use different part numbers for the same part.
Customers call with different references.
You’re replacing older parts with newer versions.
🛠️ Using Alternate Numbers When Adding Parts to a Service
You can also use Alternate Part Numbers right inside a Service or Work Order.
Here’s how:
Open the Service Order you’re working on.
In the Add Part section, type any saved Alternate Part Number in the search bar.
The part will appear, even if you don’t know the main part number.
Select the part, adjust quantity if needed, and assign it like normal.
✅ That’s it! Alternate Part Numbers work anywhere you search for a part, saving time and avoiding mistakes.
