Option 1: Assign When Creating the New Service

  1. When creating a new service, look for the Lead Technician field.

  2. Select the tech from your employee list.

    • If they’re not listed, add them under Settings → Users first.

  3. Finish creating the new service — the mechanic is now assigned.

Option 2: Assign to an Existing Work Order

  1. Go to the Services tab.

  2. Click the service you want.

  3. Click the Technician section.

  4. Add the tech you want, and click Assign.

Option 3: Assign (or Co-Assign) from the Priority View

  1. Go to Services → Priority.

  2. You'll see all your technicians across the top, and Unassigned Items on the left column.

  3. Drag a service item from the Unassigned column and drop it onto any technician to assign it.

  4. To have multiple technicians work on the same item, first assign it to one technician using the steps above.

  5. Then drag that same item from the technician's column and drop it onto a second (or third) technician — it will now appear under both.

  6. Use this view to manage your whole shop's workload on a single screen.

  7. To unassign tech from priority view, drag it back to the unassigned Item.

Where It Shows

  • The assigned mechanic’s name appears on the service.

  • Their time and tasks track automatically on time sheets and invoices.

  • To unassign the tech, click their name and click Unassign.
