🧠 Why Add External Services?

Even though the work wasn’t done in your shop, logging it in EasyTruckShop helps you:

  • βœ… Keep a complete history of all work done on a truck or trailer or vehicle

  • βœ… Prevent duplicate work

  • βœ… Know who did what and when

  • βœ… Maintain clarity across your team

  • βœ… Easily reference past work during inspections or estimates

πŸ› οΈ Example:
A truck came in for general maintenance, but you want to know what work was already done to it. You get an invoice from another shop that they have done tire work for your truck on the road. You’d log that as an External Service so everyone knows the tires were already handled.

πŸ“ Where to Add an External Service

You can create an external service inside of the trucks information. You can also include notes, upload receipts, or specify which shop did the work. (Invoice Numbers will auto generate as normal)

  1. Go to Customers > Vehicles > Locate the Vehicle/Truck/Trailer > Click on it

  2. Select External Service

  3. Fill out information necessary and Save

Below is a Video guiding you on how to get there etc.

Tracking outside work helps your shop run smoother, prevents confusion, and gives you confident in your record-keeping.
