What Goes to the Returns Page?

Parts automatically appear in Returns when:

  • A special order part (not stocked in inventory) is removed from a work order

  • A returnable core is removed

  • A work order is deleted with parts in it

Inventory items stay in stock β€” only special orders or cores go to Returns

How to Use the Returns Page

  1. Go to the Returns Page

    • Click Parts from the menu

    • Select the Returns tab

  2. Review Items Waiting to Be Processed

    • You’ll see a list of special order parts or cores removed from work orders

    • Each item will include details like part number, vendor, quantity, and cost

  3. Choose What to Do with Each Item:

    βœ… Add to Stock

    • If you want to keep the part and use it later

    • Updates your inventory count

    ♻️ Return to Vendor

    • If the part or core is being physically returned to the vendor

    • Tracks it as a returned item and removes it from your system

    πŸ—‘ Trash

    • If the part is damaged, incorrect, or not worth keeping

    • Disposes of the item with no inventory impact

πŸ” Notes & Tips

  • Special Orders are tracked separately to avoid unwanted stock buildup

  • Returnable cores will automatically show here if tagged as returnable

  • Be sure to process items promptly to keep inventory and billing accurate

βœ… That’s it! The Returns page helps you stay on top of leftover parts, unused special orders, and core returns β€” no more forgotten items in the system.
